Designer Philipp Plein is famous for mind-blowing fashion shows that have recently featured live monster trucks, the Harlem Globetrotters team as well as performances by Snoop Dog, Fergie or Lil’ Wayne. He brings the same attitude to retail as his philosophy is ‘go hard or go home’.
Plein has recently opened first British store on New Bond Street. The latest in a spate of international openings (with 30 more planned throughout 2017), the London shop is shining example of Plein’s bright and ballsy approach to the luxury market, quite literally – the first thing that greets you when you enter the store is a huge, floating version of the brand’s signature skull, encrusted in crystals.
Designed by architectural firm Claudio Pironi and Partners, the shop is spaced out over three stories, showcasing the full Philipp Plein collection in eye-popping style: beehive mirrored walls, logo-splashed carpets and perfectly polished black marble provide the backdrop for gold rails and illuminated glass shelves for his products.
