Mercedes-Maybach has just released photos of its first SUV. Surprisingly, the car isn’t based on the GLS as had been expected but rather the legendary G-Class. The vehicle is called a G650 Landaulet and is due for its world debut next month at the 2017 Geneva auto show.

The G650 Landaulet features a Biturbo V12 engine with 630 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque channeled to four 22-inch wheels. The wheelbase has been stretched by 22.7 inches and the rear seats are replaced by individual fully reclining massage seats. Additional notable features include an open-air experience foldable roof, privacy glass partition, heated and cooled center console cup holders, foldable tables, and dual 10-inch screens.

Mercedes notes that just after the premiere of the G650 Landaulet at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the car will go on sale the following month with deliveries set for this coming fall. At this moment there are no formal details regarding price, but will almost certainly exceed the $225,925 starting price of the G500 4×4, the most expensive G-Class currently on offer. And just 99 examples will be built, with deliveries to commence in the fall.
