INSIDE APPLE’S NEW STORE IN BRUSSELS

Apple has recently opened its newly designed Apple Store in Brussels, located at Avenue de la Toison d’Or in a busy shopping area, within a building designed by UN Studio and Jaspers-Eyers Architects . It is the first store since Jonathan Ive became chief design officer last May, assuming responsibility for all design at Apple, including the look and feel of Apple hardware, user interface, packaging, major architectural projects such as Apple Campus 2 and Apple’s retail stores. Jony Ive-inspired design with large and virtually seamless curved glass panels on the facade, light boxes extending the length of the ceiling, indoor trees, touch-sensitive sequoia wood tables, new wooden shelves for Beats headphones and other accessories, and a massive digital screen at the back of the store for product marketing.
The development was executed by a long-term collaborator – Fosters + Partners, the architectural firm responsible for the Gherkin skyscraper.
